あらすじ

私はサンフランシスコで鉱物仲介業の仕事をしていた。小型の帆船で海に出る趣味があった。
ある時、私は海で遭難して、ロンドン行きの小型船に助けられた。そしてそのまま船員として働かされて、ロンドンに到着した。その時、私は一ドルしか持っていなかった。
