ドロシー達は邪悪な魔女の元へ向かうことを決意した。出発の前日、木こりは斧を研ぎ、身体に油をさした。案山子は新しい藁を詰めて、目を描きなおした。そして準備万端整えて、彼らはぐっすりと眠った。
